Celebrating Joseph House's New Treatment Facility

We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of Joseph House's capital campaign and the grand opening of their new, state-of-the-art treatment facility in Camp Washington! This is a tremendous accomplishment for Joseph House, and I'm honored to have played a part in it.

The new facility boasts 58 treatment beds, including 46 private rooms, to provide veterans with a comfortable and secure environment on their road to recovery. Shared spaces, medical rooms, telehealth areas, meditation rooms, kitchens, a fitness room, and accessible staff offices round out the comprehensive amenities designed to support veterans' holistic well-being.

In November 2021, I began working closely with Joseph House's Executive Director, Alicia Patterson, upon the release of the Department of Veterans Affairs' COVID-related capital grant opportunity. Securing a significant $3.225 million federal award in April 2022, we embarked on a two-year journey to complete the capital campaign and ensure the timely occupancy of the facility.

Through a concerted effort, we crafted and submitted sixteen successful grant applications, ultimately exceeding the $10 million fundraising goal. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of organizations like the Disabled American Veterans, the Home Depot Foundation, the Haile Foundation, and the Fifth Third Foundation.

This new facility marks a significant milestone for Joseph House, allowing them to expand their capacity and provide exceptional care to even more veterans in need. We celebrate this victory with Joseph House and look forward to their continued success in serving our local veterans' community.
